Error Coins
A coin that was improperly made by a mint is known as an error coin. Error coins, also known as mint mistakes, occur in a wide variety of "shapes, sizes, and sorts." The sheer range of minted faults makes collecting them more interesting and special. These range from things like missing elements or misalignments to double, or even triple-struck coins.
